Personal Technology Project

My personal technology project includes:

• A lesson plan geared towards teaching my dance students how to edit music with Audacity, and convert it into a .mp3 file.
• My completed artifact: The original .mp3 file and the edited .mp3 file

I successfully downloaded Audacity, edited a song, and converted it to an MP3! I am so excited to share this new skill I have with my fellow dancers and my future students!

The Wonders of Audactiy

For my personal technology assignment, I have decided to research and explore the possible lesson plan connections with a music editing technology called Audacity.

Being able to edit music is a huge part of choreography in dance. I am thinking as a part of my choreography unit, I could teach my students how to download and use Audacity. I could then assign them to use the basic tools of Audacity (cut, copy, paste) to edit a piece of music for the dance that they choreograph for the unit.

Webpages are FUN!

Okay, So I thought that this whole "creating a website" thing would be tedious and boring, but to my great surprise, I had SO MUCH FUN! There are so many fun gadgets and tools you can embed!

These are the ones I had fun with:

Slideshare - I was able to embed a powerpoint presentation for my students to view.
PicasaWeb - With Picasa, I was able to embed a slide show of pictures that I uploaded from my computer.
youtube: We all know how cool youtube is, but this was the first time I had embedded a youtube video. I'm so glad I know how to do it now!
